Over 300 members of the TNROA in Virudhunagar boycotted work on Wednesday as the association began its 48-hour continuously boycott of work.
District president Ponraj said that members from Tahsildars to Office Assistant struck work in Collectorate, Revenue Divisional Offices and all the Taluk offices thus bringing the routine work to a grinding halt.
“The 30-day time given to find solution to umpteen number of petitions received during Ungaludan Stalin programme was not adequate given the workload and strength of revenue staff. We have sought 60 days time and only to hold two camps in a week and also volunteers for the camps,” he said.
New posts of Deputy Tahsildar should be created to handle special programmes, he said.
Besides, the Department of Revenue has not allocated any funds for conducting the camps.
