Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Sharma announced that a district-wide socio-educational and economic survey covering all castes and communities will be conducted in Bidar from September 22 to October 7.

Presiding over a meeting of the district-level coordination committee at her office on Thursday, she said the survey would assess the social, educational, and economic status of households across the district, including nomadic and semi-nomadic communities and tandas (hamlets).

“The survey has to be carried out comprehensively and accurately,” she directed officials.

Ms. Sharma informed that master trainers trained at the State level would, in turn, train district-level master trainers.

“Government teachers and other department officials will be deployed as enumerators and supervisors, and their details will be uploaded to a dedicated portal. Around 90 master trainers, 450 supervisors, and 4,400 enumerators will take part in the exercise, which is expected to cover 3.4 lakh households,” she said.

She added that the Energy Department has already initiated steps to paste stickers with UHID details on houses and geo-tag them through meter readers. Further, NSS volunteers will be engaged to distribute survey forms door-to-door to raise awareness among residents.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shivanand Karale, Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Shakeel, Deputy Director of Backward Classes Welfare Sunita Shivanand, and other district officials were present.
