Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Puducherry chapter, Samir Kamra, has complimented the Central government for its decision to revamp the Goods and Services Tax structure.

In a message, Mr Kamra said the reforms initiated would bring the industry and consumers closer and further accelerate industrial development in the country. The changes made in the tax structure would help in accelerating economic growth, he said.

“The various tax reliefs given to the manufacturing sector under the inverted duty structure will ease cash flow challenges for MSMEs, tangible benefits for the consumers through lower tax structure on essential basic needs, healthcare, agriculture, automobiles etc, and long term gains in infrastructure, and logistics efficiency to boost Prime Minister’s vision on Gati Shakti,” the Chairman said.
