The Udupi police have arrested two persons in separate cases of alleged illegal cattle and beef transport.
The Karkala Rural police arrested Saleem, 38, of Karinja in Moodbidri taluk of Dakshina Kannada, in connection with theft of three cattle from the cattle shed of Ahimsa Animal Care Trust in Bajagoli of Karkala taluk of Udupi district on June 16. Search is on for two more accused persons allegedly involved in the case.
The Gangolli police arrested Abdul Raheem, 35, of Gangolli village in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district, for illegal transport of 25 kg of beef in his two-wheeler on June 21. The police caught him while he was taking beef from Mullikatte to Gangolli. Raheem was involved in the case of alleged attempt to steal cattle near Mescom’s office in Gangolli, which was registered on June 18, the police said.
