RO water purification plants will be inaugurated at the ZP High School at Vellanki and at the Mandal Parishad Primary School at Boddapalem (both in Anandapuram mandal) on December 19 as part of the service initiative of the Touch Stone Foundation Charitable Trust.
Additionally, a medical camp will also be held for students and villagers, in collaboration with GITAM and Gayatri Medical Colleges and government doctors. The camp will be held across four schools— the Zilla Parishad High School, Velanki, Mandal Parishad Primary School, Boddapalem, Zilla Parishad High School, Pandrangi (Padmanabham mandal) and Zilla Parishad High School, Gottipalli (Anandapuram mandal).
The initiative is being supported by students from the United States — Rohan Reddy, Saiya Reddy, Ahana Arora, Elina Arora, Diven Arora, Maya Fazal, Camille Fazal, and Jonathan Farkasch — who have generously contributed to the service initiative as part of their academic social service activities.
According to Shruti Sagar Dasa of Touch Stone Charities they will be personally participating in the inauguration programme.
The initiative aims to provide access to safe drinking water to students and thereby significantly improve their health and well-being.
