
St. John’s Medical College in Bengaluru

A total of 199 allied healthcare professionals were awarded degrees at the annual convocation of St. John’s Medical College – Allied and Healthcare Sciences held in Bengaluru on July 8.
The 199 professionals comprised 82 BSc graduates, 39 Bachelor of Physiotherapy graduates, 24 MSc graduates, nine Masters in Physiotherapy post-graduates, 31 Masters in Hospital Administration, and 14 Diploma in Hospital Administration post-graduates. As many as 20 of the graduating students obtained university ranks.
Solomon Satishkumar, Principal of Christian Medical College, Vellore, and Fr. Jesudoss Rajamanickam, Director of St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, presented the degrees.
Fr. Jesudoss Rajamanickam said the graduating students are ambassadors of the institution through training that they received from their teachers. “Education is not about what you know, but what you do in practice,” he said.
George D’Souza, Dean of St John’s Medical College, reminded the graduates that in healthcare, it is always the patient who is central to what they do. He said that he was confident that the institute has empowered the graduates not only with the knowledge and skills, but also the attitude to be humane, compassionate and empathetic healthcare personnel.
