Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss on Friday asserted that the party, regardless of the alliance it joins in the upcoming elections, would secure a massive victory, marking one of its strongest performances yet.
“Whichever alliance the PMK joins, that alliance will secure a massive victory. Likewise, the PMK too will register an unprecedented win. Such will be the strength of our alliance,” Dr. Ramadoss told journalists after inspecting the venue for a party women’s conference scheduled to be held on August 10 in Poompuhar, near Sirkazhi.
On being questioned about confusion among the party cadre, after the split between his son Anbumani and him, Dr. Ramadoss said: “There is no confusion among our cadres — the confusion lies only with you (the media).”
Addressing the issue of insufficient funding from the Union government to the Tamil Nadu School Education Department, he said: “The north is prosperous while the south remains neglected.” However, he asserted with optimism, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is my friend— if I ask, it will be given.”
On the ongoing debate around the use of temple lands and HR & CE funds for educational purposes, he said: “If there is excess temple land, using it for educational purposes such as building colleges is not wrong.”
