Surplus water will be released from Bhavanisagar Dam into River Bhavani once the water level reaches 102 feet. People living in nearby areas have been advised to remain cautious.

A Water Resources Department official said that according to flood regulation norms, the permissible storage level at Bhavanisagar Dam varies by month: 100 feet in June and July, 102 feet from August to October, and up to 105 feet during November and December. Therefore, if the water level reaches 102 feet, surplus water will be released.
The official further added that an advisory has been issued, urging residents in low-lying areas and along the riverbanks to relocate to safer locations. The district administration has been instructed to take all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property.
