The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant said the party will contest in Mettur Assembly constituency in the 2026 elections.
As part of her statewide tour, Ms. Premallatha reached Mettur on Monday evening. Speaking at Mettur Square Market, she said that Mettur Assembly constituency was DMDK’s forte and in the upcoming elections, the party will win in this constituency. She charged that drug menace had increased in Mettur, and raised the issue of contract workers in Mettur Thermal Plant not being regularised. People should support the party and the alliance in which it is part of in the upcoming elections, she added.
