Man electrocuted in Sembakkam – The Hindu

A 35-year-old resident of Sembakkam near Tambaram was electrocuted when he went to a bakery shop on Monday night. The video of the man getting electrocuted has gone viral on the social media. The Selaiyur police have filed a case and are investigating. 

Police said Ashwin a resident of Kamarajapuram in Sembakkam was working in private car manufacturing company. On Monday night, Ashwin went to a bakery shop to buy some snacks. As he parked his two-wheeler and entered the shop, he unknowingly touched an electric wire hanging from the electric pole. Immediately, he was electrocuted. Those standing near the shop tried to rescue him but he was killed on the spot itself. 

The Selaiyur police on being alerted sent the body to Chromepet Govetnment hospital for post-mortem.
