The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police filed a chargesheet in retired DGP Om Prakash’s murder case, giving a clean chit to his daughter, Kriti. It stated that there was no evidence found about her involvement in the crime.
The 1,150 page chargesheet filed before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court mentioned that though Kriti was on the first floor of the house at the time of the murder, there was no evidence about her involvement and hence charges have been dropped, a senior police officer said.
The accused Pallavi, wife of Om Prakash, has been accused of stabbing him to death over a property dispute at their house, situated in HSR Layout on April 20, 2025. Pallavi was allegedly upset that she was not getting her due share and following an argument over the issue, stabbed him with a knife, the chargesheet stated.

A 1981-batch IPS officer hailing from Bihar, Om Prakash, 64, was found dead in a pool of blood on the ground floor of his three-storeyed house, while his wife and daughter were found inside the house.
Probe revealed that Pallavi allegedly threw chilli powder on Om Prakash’s face before stabbing him to death following a heated argument at the dining table. The HSR Layout police registered a case of murder against Pallavi and Kriti following a complaint from his son, Kartikesh, who was living in a separate house.

Son’s complaint
According to Kartikesh, his mother had been threatening to kill Om Prakash over the property row. In his complaint, Kartikesh mentioned that his father had moved to his sister Sarita Kumari’s house due to these threats. However, he claimed that two days before the murder, Kriti visited their aunt’s house and pressured their father to return home and brought him back against his will.
Considering the accused’s mental condition, the police admitted Kriti to NIMHANS for evaluation while Pallavi was subjected to medical examination before recording her statement.
Pallavi allegedly maintained that she alone killed her husband and Kriti had no role in it. She also claimed that Kriti is mentally upset due to alleged domestic violence at home. After killing her husband, Pallavi reportedly made a video call to the wife of another retired DG and IGP, declaring ominously, “I have finished the monster.”
