Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has accused both the BRS and BJP of unleashing a false propaganda against the Congress government over the urea shortage issue.
Speaking to the media in Karimnagar on Thursday (August 21), the Minister said: “The allocation of urea comes under the purview of the Central government. The State government has made a slew of representations to the Centre for allocation of adequate quantity of urea to Telangana.”
He alleged that both the Union ministers from Telangana have remained silent over the raw deal meted out to the State by the Centre in allocation of urea.
The BRS and BJP are hellbent on creating a panic situation to tarnish the image of the Congress government, he charged, reiterating that the State government is steadfast in its commitment to safeguard the interests of State farming community.
Terming the INDIA bloc’s Vice-Presidential nominee and former Supreme Court Judge B. Sudarshan Reddy as a legal luminary, Mr. Prabhakar said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has already made an appeal to all political parties to support the INDIA bloc’s nominee in the upcoming Vice-Presidential election.
BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao is using highly objectionable language against the Congress government by making baseless charges against it over the urea shortage issue, he said, replying to a specific question.
