The Kunnam police in Perambalur district have registered a case against actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Vijay and 10 others in connection with an incident at the party’s recent State conference in Madurai, where a party cadre, who climbed the ramp and went close to the actor, was forcefully pushed down by one of the bouncers.
The case was booked on a complaint lodged by Sarathkumar (24), the person affected, and a resident of Periyammapalayam in Kunnam. A video clip of the cadre being pushed down from the ramp by one Vijay’s bouncers went viral on social media.
Police sources said Sarathkumar preferred a complaint to Adarsh Pachera, the Superintendent of Police, Perambalur, on Tuesday (August 26, 2025) stating that he was abused and pushed down by one of the bouncers after he climbed the ramp.
The Kunnam police have booked a case under BNS sections including 115 (ii) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 296 (b) (uttering obscene words in public place).
