The Cochin Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) seized 4 kg of suspected hybrid ganja from a passenger who arrived at the Kochi airport from Bangkok. The alleged narcotic substance worth approximately ₹4 crore was seized from Seby Shaju of Thrissur, the Customs department said in a release.
The passenger had arrived from Bangkok, Thailand, via Kuala Lumpur by flight No. MH 108 on Tuesday (August 26, 2025). “The operation was carried out by a team led by Assistant Commissioner Paul P. George. Further investigation is on,” Chief Commissioner S.K. Rahman said in the release.
The Cochin Customs AIU had seized 101 kg of ganja in 20 different cases during the past one year, the officer said.
