Two people died and at least nine were injured when a private bus overturned near Belagavi on Thursday (August 28, 2025). The deceased, a man and a woman, are yet to be identified.
The private bus was going from Hubballi to Pune when it turned turtle on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway 4 at Badekolladmath Ghat near Hirebagewadi in Belagavi.
The driver lost control of the wheel causing the bus to turn on its side. Villagers and police rescued the passengers. The injured were admitted to the Belagavi district hospital. There were a total of 12 passengers in the bus, police said.
