An Air India Express flight IX 813 from Mangaluru to Dubai, which was supposed to take off on Saturday at 8.20 p.m., departed on Sunday after over 12 hours of delay, after a “technical snag” in the flight was attended to, according to sources.

The sources said the flight departed from the airport to Dubai on Sunday at 8.46 a.m. As many as 186 passengers booked their tickets on Saturday. Of which, 163 passengers boarded the flight to Dubai on Sunday.

A video clipping of some passengers arguing with the airline officials at the airport terminal over a lack of arrangements for their night stay were shared on social media on Sunday.

In another video clipping, a passenger said that they were made to sit in the flight for four fours on Saturday before de-boarding at midnight, saying that there was a “technical glitch” in the flight.

The passenger alleged that all-night accommodation was not arranged to all passengers. They were not given food and water, and the airlines issued the boarding pass for the morning flight, he said.
