Youth held on charge of stealing ₹10 lakh from hotel

The Central police on Monday (September 1) arrested a youth for allegedly stealing ₹10 lakh from a prominent hotel in the city.

Vyshak K.S. of Vaduthala was arrested from Pattanakkad in Alappuzha, the police said. The alleged theft took place around 3.30 a.m. on August 24, the police said.

The police said the accused sneaked into the accounts room on the second floor of the hotel after breaking a window open and looted the money kept in a locker there. The police zeroed in on the suspect following CCTV visuals and other digital evidence. The stolen money was recovered from the accused, who has been remanded, police said.
