YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy paid tributes to his father and former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) on his 16th death anniversary on Tuesday.

Mr. Jagan, along with his family members, reached Idupulapaya in Kadapa district, offered garlands at the ‘YSR Samadhi’ and participated in the special prayers.

He was accompanied by his mother Y.S. Vijayamma, wife Y.S. Bharathi and other family members.

Later, during his visit to Duggannagaripalli of Vemula mandal in Pulivendula constituency, he interacted with the onion and citrus farmers, and slammed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for not providing them minimum support price (MSP).

When the farmers said they had not received any support from the government, which they used to get during the YSRCP regime, Mr. Jagan assured them that he would demand immediate intervention.

“Onion, black gram, and banana farmers are reeling under price collapse. Adding to their woes, urea is in severe shortage, pushing farmers towards buying the same in the black market,” he said.

He also accused Mr. Naidu of betraying the farmers on the ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme, under which “only â‚č5,000 out of the â‚č40,000 promised in the first two years has been paid.”
