Teachers honoured at SSVM Transforming India Conclave in Coimbatore

The SSVM Transforming India Conclave 2025 concluded in Coimbatore with the presentation of the Inspirational Guru Awards to teachers from across the country.

The awards were hosted by SSVM Institutions as part of the fourth edition of the conclave. Twenty educators were recognised as National Awardees of the Inspirational Guru Awards 2025, while 14 teachers were honoured under the SSVM Edition.

Manimekalai Mohan, founder and managing trustee of SSVM Group of Institutions, delivered the welcome address. She said the future will be shaped by a partnership between artificial intelligence and humanity, guided by conscience, creativity, and compassion.

Srisha Mohandoss, director of Education, SSVM Institutions, said the real challenge is not whether AI will replace humans, but how humanity and AI can co-create the future. She described AI as training wheels on a bicycle, a support system that can empower learning but must be surpassed through human capability and wisdom.

The conclave also included sessions by Rohit Kapoor, CEO, Food Marketplace, Swiggy India, on the future of food delivery, former badminton champion Prakash Padukone on human spirit in sports, former Nestlé India chairman and managing director Suresh Narayanan on building brand trust in the digital age, and Sanjay Jain, head of Google for Education, India, on the role of AI in education.

On Monday, entrepreneur and content creator Sharan Hegde, founder and CEO of 1% Club, spoke on financial wisdom in the age of AI. Ms. Manimekalai Mohan and Ms. Srisha Mohandoss discussed reimagining education with AI in their session. Raja Sabapathi, chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Ganga Hospital, spoke on the role of AI in healthcare. AI ethicist, researcher and activist Jibu Elias addressed building AI for India with cultural and ethical responsibility.
