The Anna Nagar Police arrested two youngsters for allegedly assaulting a police constable who was on patrolling duty.
The police said Mariappan, a constable attached to Anna Nagar, was on patrolling duty on Wednesday night near a Tasmac outlet in the first avenue of Anna Nagar East when he spotted two persons creating a ruckus. He asked them to disperse.
According to the police, the duo abused and assaulted the constable and escaped. Based on a complaint from the constable, the Anna Nagar Police arrested the duo, who have been identified as Abilash, 19, of ICF, and Ajay Kumar, 21, of Nammalwarpet.
