Several parts of Hyderabad experienced scattered rainfall on Monday, July 21 evening, leading to waterlogging and traffic congestion in low-lying areas of the city.
The showers, which began late in the day, were particularly intense in the southern and southwestern pockets. Waterlogging was reported from Bandlaguda and Chandrayangutta, where Hyderabad City Traffic Police personnel were deployed to ease the traffic flow and assist stranded commuters.
According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), Shivarampally recorded the highest rainfall with 65.3 mm by 7 p.m., followed by 54.5 mm in Rajendra Nagar and 38.8 mm in Shastripuram. Chandrayangutta received 18.3 mm, while Barkas saw 16 mm. Other parts of the city recorded comparatively lighter rainfall, including LB Nagar and Hayathnagar with 4.5 mm each, Karwan with 4 mm, and Attapur with 3.3 mm.
