Jain Vidyalaya – Tiruppalai campus celebrated its alumni reunion here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavitha Ramu, Director, Co-optex, Museums, Art and Culture, and an alumnus of the school, recalled how joyfully she spent four years at the school with her friends. “Due to my father’s job, I could not stay in one place. Of the nine schools that I attended, Jain Vidyalaya happened to be the only one where I stayed for four years. The school and my classmates gave plentiful memories to cherish throughout my life.”
The school, in addition to nurturing her in several ways, also cushioned her from the cultural shocks she experienced in different cities, Ms. Ramu added.
“The important lesson from the school to live my life helped me to choose my passion over career. After Grade XII, instead of choosing engineering, I was able to select economics to pursue dance,” she recalled.
Advising the present generation to not succumb under pressure to perform and succeed, she said the students should learn to be calm when the world rushes.
The school management had organised the mega reunion with batches from as early as 1989. Guest of Honour Anuradha Ganesan spoke on ‘Entrepreneurship and vocational excellence’.
The students organised numerous events, and the toppers in various academic and non-academic activities were honoured. Batch-wise photo sessions and a presentation of the future of Jain Vidyalaya by the correspondent were attended by the alumni and parents. Teachers and non-teaching staff were also recognised by the management for their commendable services. Secretary Karthikeyan proposed a vote of thanks.
