A Fast Track Court in Chengalpattu has convicted and sentenced a history sheeter to 10-year-imprisonment for murdering a 42-year-old man in Medavakkam in 2012.
According to police, on February, 27, 2012, one Kabali, 42, was brutally attacked by Lakshmanan 25 who stabbed him with a broken beer bottle and caused his death, based on the incident, a case was registered at Pallikaranai Police Station. Subsequently it was transferred to Medavakkam Police Station, for monitoring and follow up of trial proceedings.
Lakshmanan, 25, of Kovilambakkam who is a history sheeted rowdy was arrested and sent to the judicial custody. At the conclusion of trial, the court on Friday pronounced its judgement convicting and sentencing Lakshmanan to 10-year-imprisonment. He was also imposed a fine of Rs 3000.
