Conservancy workers stage road roko in Salem

Conservancy workers who staged a road roko were arrested here on Thursday.

More than 60 conservancy workers staged a protest in Salem Fort Maidan against the arrest of co-workers in Chennai. They raised slogans in support of the workers and against the government. The police asked them to disburse as there was no permission for the protest. Following this, the workers staged a road roko. The police forcibly removed them and lodged 62 workers at a marriage hall and later released them in the evening.
