A 29-year-old man was stabbed to death, and two others suffered injuries after a scuffle broke out between two groups in outer North Delhi’s Bawana area, police said on Sunday.
A case was registered at Narela Industrial Area, an officer said, adding that two accused – Toshif and Arru – have been arrested and efforts are on to trace the third accused, who is at large since the incident occurred on Saturday night.
“During patrolling, a team received information about the attack and reached the spot where it was found that three people had sustained stab injuries,” the officer said.
The injured were rushed to Maharishi Valmiki Hospital, where one of the victims, identified as Niyaz, was declared dead by the doctors. The other two injured, Tosin, 20, and Nihal, 34, were later referred to Lok Nayak Hospital for treatment, he added.
The officer said that initial investigations suggest that the incident may have been the result of a fallout due to a personal rivalry. However, the exact motive is still being verified.
The body of the deceased has been preserved at the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, police teams have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
